"I finally have been able to return to painting after a year hiatus due to cancer. I am relieved to report it was a successful battle if not a long one. I found, however, upon studio re-entry that I was disconnected from just about everything. I had forgotten much. Memory of colors I had used, mixing patterns and sequences were gone—erased. I forced myself to start again and found I instinctively defaulted to my earliest painting love of atmosphere and storm."    ~Sylvia Benitez
