Experiments in Paper, 2020, $3000

This is a grouping of 6 doodles from the studio. Each is an experiment using color and handmade paper to express different perceptions of nature. One is many layers of kozo paper shaped as a tear. Using the inner bark of a mulberry tree I played with the color blue and the textured sheerness. The other five are using abaca paper treated in different ways. I burned holes in one, sewed and pressed another. Two are cast textures that are then soaked in acrylic paint. And finally one is a sketch with ink that is then worked with momogami to crinkle the surface.
