"The series Lace 10-15 continues to investigate alternative perspectives of traditional still-life painting. This series focuses on a single domestic element, lace, and re-interprets its conventional aspects, transforming them into something entirely new and innovative. In Lace 10-15, the remnants of a handmade stencil of a full-size table lace covering used to create a larger piece in Lace 3, (Ink on Paper, 2024.) These discarded remnants were randomly scattered across the surface of the six drawing surfaces, arranged in a sequential grid, used in this portfolio project series. The scattered remnants were traced and filled with black acrylic according to the rules of the full series (Lace and Still Life series)." ~John Adelman
