Algorithmic Current

My work involves the use of visual algorithms.  The algorithms consist of groupings of lines which act like musical phrases within a composition, much like variations on a theme.  I work primarily with ink on paper for drawings and oil on canvas for paintings.  In my work, a strong structural presence is evident.  The drawings and paintings should act like orchestrations of form and line.  Above all, I like to make interesting images that are defined in the mind of the viewer.

Much of my inspiration comes from the early twentieth century abstract art, especially Dada and Marcel Duchamp.

I have my Masters of Architecture from UT, am an artist, and a musician, playing pedal steel guitar, and various other instruments.  I love to draw, drink beer and watch baseball on my porch.
