Carol Marine's confident brushstrokes and bold colors lend a radiant energy to the quiet moments of her still lives. The scenes become habitats in which simple objects play. One can almost see the piggy bank wagging it's tail next to the tree of dandelions or hear the conversation between two slices of watermelon amongst a crowd of fruit.

"In general I strive to enjoy process over end-result. Because of this I look for and appreciate the little things along the way, and so simple scenes are what I like to paint. I love to experiment with different color combinations, patterns and textures. I enjoy the vivid colors and simple shapes found in fruits and vegetables and flowers."

Carol graduated from the University of Texas in the fall of 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with a focus on painting. She has been featured in local and national magazines, including Southwest Art. She received a Jury's Top 50 award at the Salon International Exhibit in 2008 and has taught sixteen sold out painting workshops all over the country in the past two years. Carol and her family live in Bastrop, Texas where she maintains her studio.
